Job summary

Oak Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Manager, Accounting Services to lead client engagements, supervise accounting staff, and ensure high-quality delivery of managed and fractional accounting services.

The role balances hands-on accounting work with team oversight, process improvement, and proactive client communication. Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance and 7+ years of experience, with CPA/CMA/MBA preferred.

• Strong technical accounting expertise in U.S. GAAP and close processes.
• Experience coaching staff and driving accountability.

Job description

The Manager, Accounting Services, is responsible for managing client accounting engagements, supervising Senior Accountants and Accountants, and ensuring high-quality delivery of managed services / fractional accounting services to Oak Services Group’s clients. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Accounting Services and serves as a key engagement manager across multiple client organizations. This role is designed for an experienced accounting professional who can oversee day-to-day client service delivery, manage and develop staff, maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders, and uphold the highest standards of ethics, confidentiality, judgment, and compliance. The Manager will be

expected to balance hands-on technical accounting work with team oversight, process improvement, client communication, and issue resolution.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• -Serve as an accounting subject matter expert and engagement manager for assigned client organizations.
• -Manage multiple client engagements, ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent delivery of accounting services across the full accounting lifecycle.
• -Supervise, coach, and develop Senior Accountants and Accountants, including reviewing work, providing feedback, supporting prioritization, and helping staff build technical and
• -Oversee monthly close processes, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, financial statement preparation, and related reporting activities.
• -Maintain the integrity of financial records for multiple client organizations and ensure strong internal controls, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• -Identify, design, and implement process improvements to standardize client service delivery, improve efficiency, and mitigate execution risk.
• -Support KPI development, management reporting, and financial analysis to help clients understand performance and make informed decisions.
• -Maintain a high level of internal and external communication, including clear escalation of issues, proactive client updates, and effective collaboration with Senior Managers and Managing Directors.
• -Handle client and personnel situations professionally, demonstrating sound judgment, accountability, responsiveness, and discretion.
• -Model Oak Services Group’s standards for ethics, integrity, confidentiality, teamwork, and client service excellence.

Qualifications

• -Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s degree, CPA, CMA, MBA, or other relevant credential preferred.
• -7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including a mix of public accounting, managed services, fractional accounting, nonprofit, private company, or industry accounting experience.
• -Strong technical accounting expertise in U.S. GAAP, with demonstrated ability to manage close processes, financial reporting, reconciliations, accruals, and internal controls.
• -Experience managing accounting staff, reviewing work product, coaching team members, and helping drive accountability and professional growth.
• -Ability to manage multiple clients, deadlines, priorities, and workstreams in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• -Advanced proficiency in Excel, accounting systems and ERPs; QuickBooks and NetSuite experience preferred. Experience with Power BI and Tableau is a plus.
• -Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, staff, senior leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• -Strong judgment, problem-solving ability, and ownership mentality, with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and help build scalable processes in an early-stage organization.
• -High degree of integrity, discretion, confidentiality, and commitment to ethical conduct and compliance.
