Job summary

Upbound Group, Inc. in Plano, TX, offers a 2027 Summer Intern Program in accounting rotation. The ten-week, in-office internship provides exposure to Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, Tax and Internal Audit, with hands-on tasks in the general ledger and tax provision support.

Ideal candidates are pursuing an Accounting degree with graduation between May 2027 and May 2028 and possess strong communication skills. Eligibility to work in the U.S. is required; sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

Summer Intern Program

Program Dates

The ten‑week program will run from May 25 to July 30, 2027, and is an in‑office experience at our company headquarters in Plano, Texas.

The Role

This internship offers a unique opportunity to rotate between key functions within the Upbound Accounting Organization, including Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, Tax, and Internal Audit, providing a well‑rounded learning experience. The Accounting Intern will perform moderate activities involving the general ledger accounting, financial statement preparation, income taxes and audit reviews, as well as potential ad hoc projects supporting the accounting organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and record journal entries in the general ledger by compiling and analyzing supporting data and other related information
• Develop and analyze ad hoc financial reporting needs and analyses, as needed
• Perform daily, monthly and quarterly financial closing procedures
• Perform timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with preparation of financial statements and reports for external SEC filings
• Assist with special accounting and finance projects and analyses as needed
• Assist with preparation of income tax returns and quarterly provision calculations
• Assist with audit reviews and SOX control process and validation procedures
• Interface with other departments to support projects

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Accounting degree, with an expected graduation between May 2027 and May 2028
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in our home office in Plano, Texas Monday through Friday
• To be eligible for this program, you must be authorized to work in the U.S. We do not offer any type of employment‑based immigration sponsorship for this program. Compensation

Summer Interns at Upbound Group are paid hourly in accordance with usual payroll procedures.

$23.00 per hour
