Job summary

Axle Informatics seeks an experienced Accounting Operations Manager to lead day-to-day accounting, ensuring accuracy and scalable processes. This onsite role in Rockville, MD or Tysons, VA requires owning AP, payroll, GL, and month-end close while driving automation and strong internal controls.

You will lead a team of accounting professionals, manage billing and contract accounting, and partner with external auditors to maintain an audit-ready environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years progressive accounting experience with hands-on responsibility in accounting operations.
• At least 3 years in direct management or supervisory role.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and experience across GL, AP, AR, billing, payroll, and month-end close.
• Experience implementing automation to streamline accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee AP, payroll, and general ledger operations and the monthly close process.
• Manage billing, AR, and contract accounting and ensure accurate invoicing.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Lead and develop accounting team, set KPIs, and drive process automation.
