Job summary

Central Willamette Credit Union is seeking an Accounting Officer in Albany, OR to partner with the Controller and CFO to maintain accurate financial operations and strong internal controls. You will coordinate with Operations, IT, and Compliance to resolve issues and protect confidential information.

The role requires a 4-year degree and 5+ years of GAAP experience; compensation includes a competitive salary, benefits, and opportunities for training and advancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with GAAP knowledge.
• 5+ years accounting experience and financial analysis skills.
• Intermediate Excel skills; experience with accounting software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve daily and monthly accounting entries; investigate discrepancies.
• Complete and/or approve daily, weekly, and monthly GL certifications; ensure control awareness.
• Monitor and verify completion of departmental GL certifications.
• Ensure timely Accounting Work Orders; coordinate with cross-functional teams; communicate risks.
• Approve outgoing wires up to established limits with confidentiality; escalate as needed.
• Support month-end close, financial reporting, and analysis with the Controller and CFO.
• Provide training and mentorship to Accounting staff; maintain procedures and documentation.
