We are a passionate team committed to our vision of creating financial solutions that make lives better, and we're seeking an experienced Accountant to join our Accounting team and help support the financial strength and operational excellence of the Credit Union.

As the Accountant, you will serve as an integral member of the Corporate Accounting team, performing a variety of accounting responsibilities that require a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through. Your work will include essential day-to-day accounting and administrative activities, as well as more technically complex functions, financial analyses, reconciliations, regulatory reporting, and special projects. You will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supporting audits and examinations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing valuable financial insights to leadership. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable balancing detailed, routine responsibilities with opportunities to contribute to higher-level projects and initiatives that advance the Credit Union’s financial objectives and member-focused mission.

What you will need to be successful:

Accounting Expertise & Financial Analysis: Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial analysis. Ability to ensure accurate accounting of financial information for both the Credit Union and its subsidiaries while maintaining compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting standards.

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical abilities with experience researching complex accounting issues, evaluating financial and transactional data, identifying process improvements, and developing sound recommendations. Ability to work effectively under deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build productive relationships across all levels of the organization. Ability to communicate effectively with auditors, examiners, management, and staff, while providing guidance, training, and support as needed.

Regulatory Compliance & Internal Controls: Knowledge of regulatory reporting, audit processes, internal controls, and record retention requirements. Ability to support compliance with NCUA, IRS, State of Oregon, BSA/AML/OFAC, and other applicable regulations while helping maintain strong accounting controls and procedures.

Experience & Education: Three to five years of accounting experience required.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, preferably in Accounting or Finance. Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency required. Experience in areas such as budgeting, forecasting, payroll accounting, mortgage accounting, investment accounting, accounts payable, fixed assets, or cost accounting preferred. Experience with accounting and reporting systems, database applications, and financial software is highly desirable.

Ways we'll appreciate you:

  • A collaborative and positive workplace culture
  • Initial and on-going support, training and mentorship with promotion opportunities
  • Competitive wages, bonuses, paid holidays and paid time off
  • 100% credit-union-paid employee coverage for medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; dependent coverage also available
  • 401k Plan with an amazingly generous credit union match!
  • Tax-saving Flexible Spending and Health Savings Plans
  • Premier membership perks, company clothing, wellness and recognition programs
