In this role, you will supervise and perform complex fiscal accounting and auditing support tasks; review the accuracy of accounting input and output; reconcile a variety of documents; analyze general ledger accounts, budget, and other financial information that require frequent use of judgment in resolving problems; independently complete financial transactions; and prepare financial worksheets and summaries that require a thorough knowledge of accepted city procedures and the use of independent judgment.

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined above is: Equivalent to graduation from high school and four (4) years of accounting office support experience. College level accounting coursework may be substituted for required experience, based on twelve (12) semester or sixteen (16) quarter units for one year of experience.
For positions assigned to the centralized citywide payroll function, proficiency in payroll must be demonstrated. Internal certification may be required for specific assignments.
In addition to the above qualifications, the desirable candidate will possess college level courses in accounting and budgeting and internal certificates of competencies in accounting, labor distribution, and accounting software.
