David Weekley Homes, based in Houston, seeks an Accounting Manager to lead the Accounting and Finance team at our headquarters. The role focuses on team development, month-end close, and process optimization.

The successful candidate will drive improvements with automation and collaborate with operations and senior management. Ideal candidates will have strong accounting and leadership experience, proficiency in Excel, and comfort communicating with all management levels.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of management experience in an Accounting field.
• At least 3 years of financial analysis experience.
• Strong technical skills and ability to pick up new things quickly.
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Comfortable working with all levels of management.
• Ability to recognize and adapt communication style to needs of recipient.
• Strong commitment to provide superior customer service.
• JDE and Essbase experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a team of 4 to accomplish team objectives
• Oversee the month-end close process, produce timely and accurate financial statements
• Review journal entries, monthly reports and balance sheet reconciliations
• Manage the annual external Audit and quarterly Bond compliance
• Manage special projects and perform ad hoc analysis
• Set up accounting processes for new business initiatives
• Identify and drive process improvement, working with existing automation tools
• Respond to questions from operations and senior management timely, providing a high level of support
