David Weekley Homes is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the Accounting and Finance team at our Houston home office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Accounting, Team Member development, project management and leadership.

This role oversees the month-end close, journal entries, financial statements, and balance sheet reconciliations while coordinating the annual external audit and bond compliance.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of management experience in an accounting field.
• At least 3 years of financial analysis experience.
• Strong technical skills and ability to pick up new things quickly.
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite required.
• Comfortable working with all levels of management.
• Ability to adapt communication style to the recipient.
• Commitment to superior customer service.
• JDE and Essbase experience a plus.

• Lead, manage and develop a team of 4to accomplish team objectives
• Oversee the month-end close process, produce timely and accurate financial statements
• Review journal entries, monthly reports and balance sheet reconciliations
• Manage the annual external Audit and quarterly Bond compliance
• Manage special projects and perform ad hoc analysis
• Set up accounting processes for new business initiatives
• Identify and drive process improvement, working with existing automation tools, and facilitate development of new tools
• Respond to questions from operations and senior management timely, providing a high level of support

• At least 3 years of financial analysis experience

• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite required
