Job summary

Gourmet Dining & Chartwells Higher Education, part of Compass Group USA, is seeking an Accounting Manager for Rutgers University in Piscataway, NJ. You’ll drive monthly reports, budgeting, and process controls while guiding cross-venue collaboration.

You’ll prep and analyze financials, oversee AP/AR/GL, and mentor the accounting team. A Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance and 1–3 years of experience are required; CPA pursuit is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience (hospitality/event experience is a plus).
• Confident with Excel and financial systems (ERP experience is a plus).
• Solid understanding of GAAP and strong attention to detail.
• CPA or working toward it is great—but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prep and analyze monthly financial reports to keep the team informed.
• Support budgeting and forecasting to guide big decisions.
• Ensure financial processes stay accurate and compliant.
• Oversee AP, AR, and general ledger activity.
• Assist audits and help improve work processes.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team.
