Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our finance team. This role will oversee the accounting operations for a portfolio of real estate assets and support strategic initiatives, reporting directly to the Controller. The ideal candidate has strong real estate accounting experience, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for a portfolio of real estate assets
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of property-level and consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Manage accounting functions including AP/AR, general ledger, bank reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis
• Coordinate with asset management, development, and property management teams to support financial operations
• Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
• Prepare and support year-end audit and tax processes with external auditors and CPAs
• Implement and improve internal controls, processes, and systems
• Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
• 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 in real estate (commercial or residential)
• Solid understanding of GAAP and real estate-specific accounting principles
• Experience with Yardi, MRI, or similar real estate accounting software
• Strong Excel and financial modeling skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
