Job summary

Rayner Surgical Group is seeking a senior finance leader to head day-to-day accounting operations for the US and Canada. You will manage the general ledger, AR/AP, treasury, and month-end close, while ensuring accuracy, controls, and compliance.

You will deliver financial analysis to guide business decisions and support audits. The role requires strong accounting knowledge, experience directing a finance team, and excellent communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
• Experience managing GL, AR, AP, treasury, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Experience preparing financial reports, analyzing data, and supporting budgeting/variance analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Excel.
• Experience leading, developing, and mentoring a finance team.

Job description

Leads the day-to-day accounting operations for US and Canada to ensure accurate financialreporting, effective financial controls, and compliance with company policies and accountingstandards. Partners with the Finance Director to deliver timely month-end and year-end closeprocesses, provide financial analysis, and support business decision-making. Overseesaccounts receivable, and accounts payable functions, maintains the integrity of financial data,supports tax compliance activities, and drives continuous improvement across finance

processes.

• Accountable for the ownership and delivery of accurate and timely month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internalcontrols.
• Accountable for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, financial reporting,reconciliations, and accounting records to support informed business decisions.
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accountsreceivable, accounts payable, treasury activities, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable process, including credit control,supplier payments, invoicing, reconciliations and cash flow management.
• Monitor financial performance, identify trends and risks, and recommend processimprovements to strengthen financial controls and operational efficiency.
• Coordinate internal and external audit activities, ensuring the timely provision of financialinformation and resolution of audit findings.
• Support cross-functional teams with financial information, customer account setup,pricing updates, and other finance-related projects as required.
• Support global and local tax compliance activities, including the preparation of information for statutory filings, audits and external advisors, as required.
• Lead, develop, and mentor the Finance team, fostering a culture of accountability,continuous improvement, and high performance.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (or equivalentexperience).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and month-end closeprocesses.
• Experience managing general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasuryactivities, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Experience preparing financial reports, analyzing financial data, and supportingbudgeting and variance analysis.
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience leading, developing, and mentoring a finance team

Desirable

• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CMA, or equivalent) or working towardscertification.
• Experience with NetSuite ERP.
• Experience supporting US sales tax, corporate tax, or other indirect tax compliance
• Experience within the medical device, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry.
• Experience working in a growing, international organization.
