Job summary

Amazon is seeking a financial accounting professional to own end-to-end accounting processes across business units in California. The role emphasizes accuracy, ownership, and continuous improvement within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include supporting the monthly close, enhancing internal controls, and driving process automation while partnering with Accounting, Legal and IT teams. A strong GAAP/COSO background and 5+ years in finance are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.

Responsibilities

• Supporting various aspects of our accounting and reporting process.
• End-to-end process ownership to support finance and business partners.
• Assess internal control design concepts and contribute to designing new processes and controls for growing business activities.
• Execute judgments to keep projects moving and ensure timely monthly close.
• Escalate risks and issues to leadership as necessary.
• Maintain a strong sense of ownership.
• Identify process improvement and automation opportunities to drive positive change across the organization.
• Lead delivery of accounting tasks and projects.
• Enhance partnerships between Accounting and various business and IT groups.
• Research, conclude, and memorialize technical accounting position papers.
