Job summary

Gerken Paving, Inc. in Ohio is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead key accounting functions across divisions. You will guide Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll teams while partnering with business unit leadership on financial reporting, controls, and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting or shared services experience.
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, laws, and regulations.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software.
• Experience with NetSuite ERP is a plus.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals.
• Oversee division-wide payroll processing.
• Manage daily operations of AP, AR, Cash Receipts, and Payroll.
• Review and analyze bank account reconciliations.
• Maintain general ledger reconciliations.
• Perform expenditure variance analysis.
• Support monthly and year-end closing activities.
• Collaborate with BU Controllers on financial reporting and accounting matters.
• Partner with operations and internal departments to support business objectives.
• Ensure financial accuracy, consistency, and compliance across accounting processes.
