Job summary

LHH partners with a growing investment firm to hire an experienced Fund Accounting Manager in Austin, TX. The role blends technical accounting depth with people leadership and cross-functional collaboration to support a developing fund platform.

You will supervise accounting staff, oversee fund and investment accounting processes, ensure timely financial reporting, and contribute to fundraising and new fund launches. This is a leadership-driven, hands-on role in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Strong technical accounting background with well-rounded accounting experience.
• Approximately 2–4 years of supervisory or people-management experience.
• Experience within fund accounting, investment accounting, financial services, or a related environment.
• Public accounting (audit/assurance) experience strongly preferred.
• Real estate experience is a plus, but not a requirement.

The organization is continuing to expand its fund business and is looking for a strong accounting professional who can bring a combination of technical depth, leadership experience, and strong communication skills.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong technical accounting background with well-rounded accounting experience
• Approximately 2–4 years of supervisory or people-management experience
• Experience within fund accounting, investment accounting, financial services, or a related environment
• Public accounting (audit/assurance) experience strongly preferred
• Real estate experience is a plus, but not a requirement
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively supervise, mentor, and support accounting professionals
• Collaborative approach and comfort working within a growing, evolving organization

Ideal Background

We are particularly interested in candidates who combine a strong technical accounting foundation with fund or investment-related experience and demonstrated leadership capabilities.

Candidates may come from backgrounds including:

• Private credit
• Investment management
• Fund accounting
• Public accounting serving investment or financial-services clients

Real estate experience is helpful, but candidates do not need to have spent their careers specifically within real estate funds to be considered.
