Job summary

StevenDouglas is exclusively engaged on a newly created Accounting Manager opportunity with a Florida-based company. You will lead a team of Accountants and Senior Accountants and own the close calendar while helping shape processes during ERP modernization and automation projects.

The role offers a hybrid schedule with 3 days per week work from home, and direct access to senior finance leadership as the structure matures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience with GAAP and close.
• 2+ years of leadership experience.
• CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close and consistently hit deadlines.
• Own the close calendar, task tracking, and cross-functional coordination.
• Review and approve journal entries, accruals, and adjustments; own GL integrity.
• Oversee account and bank reconciliations and subledger-to-GL alignment (AP, Fixed Assets).
• Analyze variances and get ahead of risks, errors, and unusual trends.
• Partner with Financial Reporting, FP&A, and Treasury on accurate financial inputs.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Drive standardization and automation across accounting processes.
• Lead and develop a team of Accountants and Senior Accountants.

The close calendar, task tracking, and cross-functional coordination are all being built from scratch, so you'd own execution while helping shape the process itself. You'd also lead a team of Accountants and Senior Accountants and contribute to an ERP modernization and the automation projects tied to it.
