Additionally, the role requires advanced interpretation of complex accounting matters, assessment of financial statement impacts, control design and remediation, reporting quality, and escalation of risks with clear recommendations. The Accounting Manager partners across Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, IT, and the broader organization and provides mentorship and guidance to General Accounting team members without direct people-management responsibility. Own the end-to-end review and approval of journal entries prepared by the General Accounting team, as assigned. Own the end-to-end review and approval of assigned balance sheet account reconciliations and partner with the team to resolve discrepancies. Identify and drive issues to closure, clarify decision rights across the team, and escalation recommended solutions to leadership. Coordinate and drive execution across the team to support smooth month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and a continuous improvement mindset. Constructively challenge assumptions, align stakeholders on accounting implications and priorities, and influence consistent enterprise practices without direct authority. Deliver team training and documentation, coordinate cross-training, and provide ongoing mentoring and coaching to build capability across the General Accounting team in processes and policies. Drive and own biannual, enhancement-related, and ad hoc D365 testing for areas affecting the General Accounting team. Drive data stewardship, standardized definitions, self-service reporting, dashboard or analytics requirements, automation, and appropriate AI-enabled opportunities that improve accuracy, controls, and speed. Support internal and external audits by coordinating documentation and analysis and partnering with the Technical Accounting team to resolve complex accounting matters and provide timely, accurate responses. Assist with the consolidation of monthly actuals and support the FP&A team with variance analysis, as needed. Lead cross-functional partnerships with IT, FP&A, operations, and executive leadership to automate routine processes and deliver accurate, timely insights that support the Annual Plan and forecasting. Lead governance and continuous improvement of D365 reporting and master data, ensuring data accuracy, consistent standards, effective controls, and alignment across Finance and business partners. Evaluate trends, identify root causes and emerging risks, connect accounting outcomes to business drivers, and translate findings into concise insights and recommended actions for Finance and business leaders. Ownership for process mapping, standard work, root-cause analysis, control enhancement, and measurable outcomes such as close cycle time, first-pass quality, recurring issue reduction, rework, and manual effort. Lead stakeholder readiness, training, adoption, and sustained use of new systems, controls, reporting standards, and ways of working; build bench strength through playbooks, cross-training, and succession support.
