Job summary

X Technologies is seeking an Accounting Manager with government contracting expertise to lead day-to-day accounting operations in San Antonio. You will oversee the general ledger, month-end close, and ensure compliance with FAR, GAAP, and DCAA while guiding a skilled accounting team.

This role partners with project managers and operations to cost projects accurately, prepare financial statements, budgets, and analyses for leadership, and support audits and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in government contracting.
• Strong knowledge of FAR, GAAP, and DCAA compliance requirements.
• Experience with job cost accounting and indirect rate structures.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger, month-end close processes, and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and payroll coordination to ensure proper controls and compliance.
• Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Prepare variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
• Support executive leadership with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting.
• Collaborate with project managers, contracts, HR, and operations to ensure accurate project costing and reporting.
