Job summary

StepStone is seeking an experienced Manager to lead corporate accounting for subsidiary entities in a hybrid environment in San Diego, CA. You will oversee monthly closes, reviews, intercompany matters, and regulatory filings, while developing accounting staff and strengthening controls.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, and CPA preferred. Big 4 experience and international accounting familiarity are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• At least five years of progressive accounting experience, including reviews and leading processes.
• Prior supervisory or people management experience preferred.
• Big 4 or large regional public accounting experience preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting concepts.
• Experience with international entities and currency translation a plus.
• Familiarity with investment partnership accounting and reporting a plus.
• Proficient in Excel; NetSuite GL experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly financial close for subsidiary entities and related activities.
• Review financial statements, journals, GL reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
• Assist with cash management and AR/AP, expense reporting, and related docs.
• Oversee long‑term investment entries and capital calls reconciliations.
• Coordinate quarterly reviews and annual audits for subsidiaries.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, controls, and reporting.
• Maintain statutory books and regulator filings; coordinate with service providers.
• Collaborate with U.S. accounting and other subsidiaries; resolve intercompany issues.
• Supervise and develop staff; set priorities and review standards.
• Identify process improvements and leverage technology to strengthen controls.
• Support ad hoc analyses and special projects as needed.
