Job summary

Amazon is seeking an experienced accounting leader for the Fuse Accounting team in Seattle. You will own the monthly close, analyze variances, and deliver meaningful reporting while strengthening controllership and enabling scalable growth.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to apply GAAP knowledge, ASC 606, and internal controls, and will drive AI and automation initiatives to boost efficiency. A CPA and 5+ years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of finance or related analytical field experience.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• CPA preferred.
• Knowledge of COSO internal control framework.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the monthly/quarterly close process, including preparing journal entries, analyzing variances, and delivering meaningful financial reporting to management.
• Review new contracts and interpret contractual terms to determine appropriate revenue recognition under ASC 606.
• Prepare and review technical accounting memos under US GAAP, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls and design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities.
• Partner closely with cross-functional teams including Business, Finance, and Tax to ensure alignment, compliance, and scalability.
• Drive projects, provide accounting guidance, and often serve as first point of contact for finance and business partners to launch new projects and resolve issues.
• Evaluate existing processes and recommend, develop, and drive improvements to increase efficiency and scalability.
• Drive AI and automation solutions for operational improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy across accounting processes.
