Job summary

The TJX Companies, Inc. in Framingham, MA is seeking a Financial Accounting Manager to lead the month-end close, ensure accuracy of TJX financial statements, and mentor a small team of accountants.

You will review journals, reconciliations, and complex transactions for US GAAP compliance, support internal and external audits, and drive SOX controls. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and technical accounting skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Accounting, Audit or Finance experience.
• Prior management experience (1 to 2+ Years Preferred).
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
• Public Accounting a plus.
• Technical accounting and strong understanding of GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Manage the development and provide mentorship and training to 2-3 Financial Accountants. Delegate work and assignments.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations and complex accounting transactions to ensure accuracy of Financial Statements
• Review and analyze Financial Statements and supporting schedules/disclosures – P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Forms 10-Q, 10-K, etc. with a focus on accuracy and timeliness and conformity with US GAAP
• Ensure control environment and SOX controls are maintained
• Own the oversight of special projects, management presentations and Ad Hoc requests
• Independently lead the accounting team in meetings with business partners on accounting matters
• Identify & implement opportunities for operational improvement & efficiencies
• Research and interpret new and recently issued accounting standards
• Lead discussions with Internal and External auditors with related audits

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent

5+ years of Accounting, Audit or Finance experience

Management experience

Public Accounting a plus

Technical accounting and strong understanding of GAAP
