Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Manager to coordinate daily general accounting functions, oversee GAAP financial reporting, and support Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

This role manages close processes, inventory controls, budgeting, and inter-company reconciliations for the Largo, FL area. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and at least three years in manufacturing accounting, with strong analytical/communication skills and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance.
• Minimum three years’ related experience in a manufacturing environment (cost accounting a plus).
• Self-starter with strong strategic thinking skills and experience in strategy reviews.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and integrate effective practices.
• Strong PC and business systems knowledge.
• Excellent working knowledge of accounting principles.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, generally less than 5%.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily general accounting functions and manage close processes.
• Handle general ledger, financial reporting, year-end and internal audit support.
• Support Sarbanes-Oxley documentation/compliance and tax compliance.
• Reconcile inventories, inter-company transfers, and standard costs.
• Monitor gross margins and perform monthly product line analysis.
• Oversee physical inventory counts and forecast/reporting activities.
• Support international sales reporting and corporate reporting (HFM).
• Assist with budgeting and variance analysis, and SOX compliance requirements.
