Job summary

SSA Marine, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Manager, Fixed Assets to lead capitalization, asset accounting, and reporting across a multi-entity global operation. You will supervise three professionals, drive internal controls, and partner with senior leadership on capital projects.

The role requires deep GAAP knowledge, experience with fixed assets, and strong communication. This hybrid position sits in Seattle, WA, with a mix of in-office and remote work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.
  • 7+ years of accounting experience, including fixed asset accounting in a multi-entity setup.
  • 3+ years leading accounting or finance teams.
  • Strong GAAP knowledge, capitalization policies, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with consolidated financial reporting and intercompany accounting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; advanced Excel; experience with Blackline and Hyperion.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Public accounting or advisory experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and coach a team of accounting professionals in fixed asset accounting and capitalization.
  • Maintain capitalization policies and governance standards across the organization.
  • Oversee fixed asset activities: additions, transfers, disposals, retirements, depreciation, reconciliations.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close for fixed assets and provide financial statement support.
  • Ensure intercompany and related-party fixed asset transactions are identified and reconciled.
  • Coordinate consolidated fixed asset reporting and related analyses.
  • Develop and monitor fixed asset internal controls for compliance.
  • Oversee fixed asset audits and respond to inquiries.
  • Analyze complex transactions to support accurate reporting and decisions.
  • Partner with executives to support capital projects and asset capitalization lifecycle.

The Accounting Manager, Fixed Assets, leads fixed asset accounting and capitalization activities across Carrix's global operations. Managing a team of accounting professionals, this role oversees capitalization governance, financial reporting, internal controls, and consolidated fixed asset reporting within a complex, multi-entity organization. The position serves as a key accounting partner to senior leadership, supporting major capital investments, infrastructure projects, and strategic initiatives while driving process improvements and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's fixed asset portfolio.



  • Lead, develop, and coach a team of accounting professionals, providing performance management, training, and technical guidance on fixed asset accounting and capitalization requirements.

  • Maintain and communicate capitalization policies and governance standards across the organization, providing guidance on the appropriate accounting treatment of capital expenditures.

  • Oversee fixed asset accounting activities across the organization, including asset additions, transfers, disposals, retirements, depreciation, and reconciliations, ensuring compliance with GAAP and capitalization policies.

  • Lead month-end and year-end close activities related to fixed assets, ensuring accurate and timely accounting, reconciliations, reporting, and financial statement support.

  • Ensure intercompany and related-party fixed asset transactions are properly identified, recorded, reconciled, and eliminated.

  • Coordinate and oversee the preparation of consolidated fixed asset reporting, including monthly roll forward schedules, capitalization reporting, and related analyses.

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor fixed asset internal controls to support compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

  • Oversee fixed asset audit activities, including coordination of internal and external audit requests, preparation of supporting documentation, and resolution of audit inquiries.

  • Analyze complex accounting transactions and financial data to ensure accurate reporting and support informed business decisions.

  • Partner with Strategy, Business Development, Operations, and other business leaders to support capital projects and ensure appropriate capitalization throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Review construction-in-progress (CIP) activity and support the timely transfer of completed projects into service in accordance with capitalization policies and accounting requirements.

  • Develop and present capitalization metrics, reporting, and insights to senior leadership to support capital planning, investment decisions, and business objectives.

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve fixed asset accounting processes, systems, reporting, controls, data integrity, and operational efficiency.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.

  • 7+ years of accounting experience, including experience leading fixed asset accounting and capitalization activities within a complex, multi-entity organization.

  • 3+ years of experience leading, developing, and managing accounting or finance professionals.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, including capitalization policies, fixed asset accounting, and financial reporting requirements.

  • Experience supporting consolidated financial reporting and intercompany accounting in a multi-entity organization.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills, and experience using financial systems and reporting tools such as Blackline and Hyperion.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with senior leadership and business partners on accounting, capitalization, and financial reporting matters.

  • Public accounting or advisory experience strongly preferred.

Pay Range: $125,000 - 140,000 per year


The posted compensation range is based on the applicable geographic market for the position and may vary depending on factors such as related experience and skill set. Final compensation will be determined based on these items and other relevant factors.
