Job summary

Pivotal Solutions in Jersey City, NJ is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead US GAAP financial reporting, oversee accounts payable/receivable, expense analysis, and investments, and coordinate external audits. This role also drives financial system implementations and process improvements, reporting to the Controller.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting/finance with management experience, strong analytical abilities, and excellent cross-functional communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting/finance experience, with management exposure.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience.
• Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong time management.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of combined financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flows).
• Oversee monthly close with accruals, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and asset depreciation reconciliations.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Develop internal controls and budgeting/cash flow projections; manage special projects.
• Manage treasury and cash flow; prepare ACH and wire transfers.
• Liaise with external auditors during audits and financial reporting.
• Evaluate and implement new financial systems and process improvements.
• Review and update accounting policies to meet internal and external requirements.
