Job summary

Sky Harbour is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting for construction and manufacturing projects in a fast-paced aviation environment. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and vendors, ensuring accurate accounting and timely close.

The role requires 4–6 years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and leadership abilities to drive process improvements and ensure compliance with SOX and SEC requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (required).
• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience (Big 4 a plus).
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and its application to construction/manufacturing.
• Experience with SEC reporting and SOX compliance.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with AI platforms and productivity tools to modernize processes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day accounting staff activities.
• Prioritize deadlines and allocate resources to meet objectives.
• Manage month-end and year-end close timelines.
• Review journal entries and reconciliations; maintain general ledger integrity.
• Conduct one-on-one coaching and team development.
• Lead cross-functional meetings to align priorities and deadlines.
• Assist in periodic financial statements for SEC and MSRB; interface with external auditors.
• Maintain SOX internal controls and corporate governance.
• Collaborate with other departments on forecasting and business decisions.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and leverage automation.
