Job summary

Confidential Company is seeking an Accounting Manager in Plano, TX to oversee the full accounting cycle, focus on bank account discipline, and ensure integrity of all financial transactions. You will lead a small accounting team, coach staff, and deliver timely financial information to support strategic decisions.

The role requires proactive leadership, strong internal controls, and collaboration with sales, customer service, and finance to ensure accurate postings and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with 2–3 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with accounting software for bank reconciliation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, review, and close of all bank reconciliations on a daily/weekly basis.
• Ensure reconciliation entries are accurate, timely, and fully documented.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a systematic manner, maintaining precision and accountability.
• Develop and enforce procedures to safeguard cash and ensure internal controls compliance.
• Reconcile IOLTA balances daily and maintain strict compliance with legal guidelines.
• Manage invoicing process and timely delivery of invoices to customers.
• Oversee collections, monitor aging reports, and resolve payment issues with Sales.
• Coordinate with CS and Sales to reconcile customer statements and discrepancies.
• Oversee AP workflow, invoices processed, coded, and paid per terms.
• Validate and reconcile vendor statements and maintain vendor records.
• Manage payment approvals ensuring proper segregation of duties.
• Coordinate invoice processing with customers for PO alignment.
• Coordinate month-end closing activities and ensure entries posted/approved.
• Prepare supporting schedules for monthly financial statements and GAAP compliance.
• Facilitate audit preparation with required documentation.
• Design and monitor internal controls across accounting processes.
• Conduct control reviews and risk assessments with improvement recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with laws and accounting standards.
• Recruit, train, and mentor accounting staff; set performance goals.
• Promote collaboration across Finance and cross-functional teams.
• Identify inefficiencies in workflows and implement automation/ERP enhancements.
• Champion continuous improvement to improve data accuracy and reduce cycle times.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and reports for senior management.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
