Job summary

Roofstock is seeking a hands-on Manager, Accounting to lead our accounts payable, procurement, and corporate accounting functions in a hybrid Oakland office. The role includes booking journal entries, researching GL issues, payroll, and producing cash reporting and the monthly close package.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong US GAAP knowledge, and proven team leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
Min 4 years progressive accounting experience.
1–2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
Experience closing month-end and year-end in a fast-paced environment.
Hands-on with AP and procurement operations.
Solid US GAAP knowledge.
Advanced Excel and financial reporting tools proficiency.

Responsibilities

Own AP & procurement full cycle, including invoicing, PO workflow, vendor onboarding, and escalations.
Own payroll and benefits accounting, including related journal entries and reconciliations.
Prepare and review journal entries; reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
Support monthly close and speed up close timeline to 4–5 days.
Produce cash reporting and monthly close package with GAAP and non-GAAP metrics.
Lead a team of two with day-to-day supervision and workload planning.
Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A and external consultants on special projects.
Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements using AI.
