The management team of Veritas includes DVMs and leaders from publicly traded companies like DaVita Healthcare and leading private equity and consulting firms like Blackstone and Bain. As the accounting manager, you will play a critical role in building a high-performing accounting function. You will report directly to the VP Controller and help scale systems and processes as we continue to grow. If you’re detail-obsessed, analytical, and thrive in a dynamic environment - we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist the VP Controller with all aspects of month-end close.
  • Own the Accounts Payable (AP) process and lead the AP team.
  • Perform and review key balance sheet reconciliations, especially bank accounts.
  • Review P&L activity and ensure timely and accurate monthly accruals.
  • Review general ledger activity, investigate and resolve reconciling items or discrepancies.
  • Manage inventory accounting and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements with variance analysis and commentary.
  • Handle sales tax filings and work directly with our tax preparers.
  • Support external audits by preparing schedules and working closely with audit teams.
  • Help document and improve accounting policies, systems, and internal controls.
  • Drive timeliness and accuracy of financial data in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Work cross-functionally to improve data flow and reporting accuracy.
  • Help implement and optimize ERP tools and automation platforms (we use Sage Intacct).

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA.
  • 3+ years of senior-level accounting experience, including experience in managing a team.
  • Strong command of U.S. GAAP.
  • Expert in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  • Comfortable analyzing large data sets with precision and speed.
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Ability to multitask, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Self-starter who anticipates needs and drives tasks to completion.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to solve complex problems creatively.
  • Experience with major ERPs (Sage Intacct, NetSuite, etc.) and a tech-forward mindset.
