Job summary

Cleveland Electric Laboratories in Twinsburg, OH is seeking a dependable Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting. You will manage core accounting functions, support compliance, and provide timely financial information to leadership.

Ideal candidates have 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, GAAP knowledge, and strong leadership skills. Manufacturing context and cost accounting experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Experience managing general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to both financial and non-financial audiences.
  • Manufacturing accounting and cost accounting experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage and develop a team.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements, reporting regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax professionals, and regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Analyze financial data and identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Support department managers and company leadership by providing financial reporting and operational insights.
  • Assist in developing and implementing accounting process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance management.

Position Summary
