Job summary

Spherion VT is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee plant-level accounting, month-end closing, reporting, and credit operations for a premier Shelburne-based manufacturing organization. You will manage internal staff and provide leadership with actionable financial insights.

Responsibilities include leading close processes, managing manufacturing- specific accounting, and maintaining internal controls. Strong Excel and ERP skills, with SOX/audit experience, are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Active CPA or CMA credential is a plus.
• Hands-on accounting experience in manufacturing with standard costing and inventory controls.
• Strong supervisory and communication skills to lead an accounting team and present findings.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-, quarter-, and year-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and consolidated statements.
• Oversee manufacturing accounting: standard costing, inventory valuation, CapEx tracking, fixed assets.

Spherion VT is seeking an Accounting Manager to work with a premier manufacturing organization based in Shelburne. This role oversees plant-level general accounting, month-end closing, operational reporting, and credit operations while managing internal accounting staff and supporting leadership with actionable financial insights.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analyses, and consolidated financial statements.
• Oversee manufacturing-specific accounting operations, including standard costing, inventory valuation (raw materials, WIP, finished goods), CapEx tracking, and fixed assets.
• Manage day-to-day accounting staff, customer credit evaluation, and collections while ensuring strict adherence to internal controls, corporate policies, and external audit compliance.

Working hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills

• Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) credential is a plus.
• Prior experience managing internal controls and compliance audits in an organization subject to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) or parent-company operating standards.
• Experience with cross-border trade transactions, including international billing, customs accounting, and multi-state tax reporting.

• Demonstrated hands-on accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, with strong knowledge of standard cost accounting and inventory controls.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex modeling, formulas, pivot tables) and direct experience working with integrated ERP systems.
• Proven supervisory capabilities with excellent communication skills to lead an accounting team and present financial findings to cross-functional operational leaders.
