Job summary

AmeriTex Pipe & Products is seeking a Corporate Accounting Leader to supervise the Accounts Payables and Staff Accounting teams. You will support the Assistant Controller in monthly, quarterly and annual cycles, preparing financial statements and the reporting package.

Responsibilities

• Supervises corporate Accounts Payables and Staff Accounting teams.

• Prepares balance sheet schedules and quarterly roll forwards.
• Manages posting of bank transactions and bank reconciliations.
• Ensures GAAP compliance and develops internal controls.
• Mentors staff accountants and coordinates intercompany transactions.
• Coordinates property tax reports and journal entry reviews.

Job description

This role is a key member of the Corporate Accounting Team and is responsible for supervising the corporate Accounts Payables and Staff Accounting teams. Supports the Assistant Controller with the monthly, quarterly and annual accounting cycles in preparing financial statements and financial reporting package. Must have strong managerial accounting experience. This role also supports the annual audits and annual budget preparation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:

• Manages balance sheet related schedules and prepares quarterly roll forwards
• Manages the posting of bank transactions and bank reconciliations
• Manages all shared services accounting activities and projects for her team.
• Research into accounting guidance to ensure transactions follow GAAP.
• Prepares trial balances of multiple facilities, which include intercompany transactions.
• Prepares documentation for and participates in the annual audit of financial statements.
• Mentors the staff accountants to develop industry knowledge and ensure company-wide compliance with legal regulations and standard accounting practices
• Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation Coordinates the preparation and filing of property tax reports
• Manages and reviews journal entries processed by her team.
• Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor or a senior member of the management team necessary for the operations of the department and the business.
