With revenue growing 20x over the last 15 months, they are building out their core finance function to support hyper-growth.
The Role & Impact
As the first dedicated Senior Accounting Manager, you will own the Order-to-Cash (O2C) cycle end-to-end and build accounting infrastructure from scratch. You will work directly with finance leadership and cross-functional teams to bring operational rigor to a rapidly expanding balance sheet.
Key Responsibilities
- Own Order-to-Cash (O2C): Design and manage invoicing, collections, and revenue recognition workflows integrating usage-based billing platforms (Tabs), Stripe, Salesforce, and financial close systems.
- Lead Monthly Close: Own the monthly revenue close (targeting 5 business days), handle 3-way reconciliations, and prepare audit-ready flux analyses and controls.
- Master Technical Accounting: Personally author and defend ASC 606 technical accounting memos covering usage-based revenue models, multi-element arrangements, and deferred commissions.
- Drive External Audits: Lead the company’s 2nd AICPA audit (FYE 2027), manage Big4/regional audit firm relationships, and lay the groundwork for future PCAOB scoping.
- Cross-Functional Partnering: Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Sales to advise on pricing structures, new product revenue treatments, and commercial agreements.
Qualifications
- Experience: 6–9 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 4+ years in high-growth, Series B–D SaaS/enterprise software environments.
- Billing Systems: Hands-on experience with usage-based billing systems (Tabs strongly preferred, or Maxio, Chargebee, Zuora, Stripe Billing).
- Technical Writing: Track record of personally drafting and defending ASC 606 revenue recognition memos directly to external auditors.
- Audit Leadership: Direct experience leading external audits (Big4 or top regional firms) from the client side.
- AI-First Mindset: Active user of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) to streamline technical research, close workflows, and memo creation.
- Eligibility: Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder). Located in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area (Hybrid: 3 days in-office).
