Job description

Capstone Homes is northern Arizona's premier luxury semi-custom and production homebuilder, serving Prescott, Prescott Valley, and Flagstaff. Founded by industry professionals with decades of homebuilding experience, Capstone has built its reputation on craftsmanship, integrity, energy efficiency, and value.

ECCO Homes, our affiliated builder, is rooted in Prescott Valley and focused on attainable, energy-efficient homes that deliver quality and comfort without compromising the buyer's budget. ECCO brings the same commitment to thoughtful design, sustainable building practices, and an elevated customer experience. Together, the two brands offer homebuyers a full range of options, from approachable first homes to luxury custom residences, including new neighborhoods within Jasper, Prescott Valley's 1,200-acre master-planned community at the base of Glassford Hill.

We're a growing organization in one of northern Arizona's most active new-construction markets, and we're building a finance team to match. Joining us means contributing to well-run, well-respected companies where accuracy, accountability, and process discipline directly support the work of putting families into quality homes. This role will serve our Prescott/Prescott Valley Division exclusively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enforce accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Oversee sales tax filings and compliance.
  • Coordinate with external CPA auditors and/or advisors.
  • Process invoicing and manage purchase orders (PO) through the full cycle (interfaces directly with Purchasing Department)
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including loan reconciliations.
  • Track loan covenants and maintain organized, audit-ready loan agreements and supporting documentation.
  • Track land development partnership agreements and ensure accurate, timely fulfillment of obligations.
  • Update applicable financial and operational reports with timeliness and accuracy.
  • Identify, improve, and assist in development of scalable accounting processes and procedures.
  • Assist the Assistant Controller / Divisional Analyst with ad hoc projects and any additional tasks required by the department.

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience managing month-end close.
  • Homebuilding or construction industry experience is a strong plus.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
  • Experience with multi-entity accounting preferred.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and personal accountability for work product.
  • Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment background check
Software & Technical Skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite, with demonstrated excellence in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, large data sets).
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience preferred.
  • Comfort learning and adapting to new systems and reporting tools.
Attributes for Success
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Adapts well to change and shifting priorities.
  • Willing to put in the legwork to learn the role and the business.
  • Independent mindset, self-motivated, organized, multitasking, and dependable, with strong follow-through.
  • Willingness to go the extra mile.
  • Clear communicator who collaborates effectively within a small finance team.
Growth Path
