Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the general accounting functions in a manufacturing setting. You will oversee AP/AR/GL, tax, and month-end close while preparing timely financial statements and budgets. The role includes regulatory reporting, internal controls, and mentoring a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CMA/CPA or master’s is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years in accounting, preferably in industrial/manufacturing sector.
• Experience as financial controller, accounting supervisor, or similar role.
• Solid general ledger and month-end/year-end close experience.
• Hands-on with FreshBooks and QuickBooks; strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills; good written/verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and understand engineering industry regulations.

Responsibilities

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing and managing the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
• Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances
• Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements
• Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting
• Researching technical accounting issues for compliance
• Supporting month-end and year-end close process
• Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Liaising with our auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
• Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Managing and mentoring members of the accounting team

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) is a plus.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the industrial or manufacturing sector.
• Proven experience as a financial controller, accounting supervisor, or a similar role.
• Solid experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like FreshBooks and QuickBooks.
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• An understanding of the engineering industry and its financial regulations.
