Base pay range

$100,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr

Location: Chicago, IL

A long-standing, family-owned company (130+ years in business) is looking to hire an Accounting Manager to oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations and help modernize processes as the organization continues to grow.

This is a tight-knit, collaborative team where everyone pitches in — the ideal hire is hands‑on, reliable, and enjoys being the go‑to person for accounting operations.

What You’ll Do

• Own the full month‑end close and prepare financial statements
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, intercompany activity, and inventory adjustments
• Process payroll in Paylocity, including commissions
• Support A/P & A/R as needed (team is long‑tenured and stable)
• Complete timely bank reconciliations (within 30 days)
• Partner with external CPA for tax‑related items
• Oversee insurance and 401(k) administrative tasks
• Drive process improvements and contribute to ERP (Acumatica) enhancements

What They’re Looking For

• 5–8+ years of hands‑on accounting experience in a small‑business environment ($10–40M revenue ideal)
• Strong close experience and comfort with multi‑entity accounting
• Ability to lead and support long‑tenured team members
• Manufacturing or production experience a plus
• Must be comfortable being fully onsite, Monday–Friday
• A true do’er — someone who likes rolling up their sleeves and improving processes
