Job description

Your Numbers Gal is a modern accounting firm that helps high-earning entrepreneurs turn their numbers into confident decisions and stronger profits. We’re not here to just reconcile accounts. We help clients understand what their financials mean and how to use them.

We’re hiring a part‑time Accounting Manager to join our remote team. In this role, you’ll lead the month‑end close process, review and approve bookkeeper work, facilitate new client onboarding, and lead client calls. You’ll also own key client compliance workflows, including sales tax, state tax registrations, and annual 1099 filings.

You’ll manage a small client roster (typically 5–10 clients) while overseeing a team of 2–4 W2 bookkeepers. This is a part‑time role with the potential to grow into full‑time within 12–18 months. If you’re experienced, steady under deadlines, and ready to support a team while keeping client financials clean and compliant, we’d love to hear from you.

About Us

At Your Numbers Gal, we know that solid financials give business owners more than just data—they give peace of mind. We support clients with clean books, helpful insights, and strategic support that’s actually understandable. Our approach blends professionalism with approachability. We believe financial strategy doesn’t have to be intimidating, and accurate books shouldn’t be a mystery. With us, clients know where they stand, what’s working, and where they need to focus next.

What We're Looking For

You have 3–5 years of experience owning the month‑end close cycle (preferably for multiple clients or entities). You can review bookkeeping work for accuracy, troubleshoot balance sheet issues, and guide bookkeepers through complex accounting entries.

You’re comfortable leading client calls, facilitating smooth onboardings, and collaborating with CPAs. You can also own ongoing compliance workflows such as sales tax filings, state tax registrations, payroll tax coordination, and annual 1099 processes.

You’re open to new systems, tech, and ways of doing things. You like working independently, but you also care about being part of a team. You’re not looking to build your own firm. You want a steady, flexible role where you can do great work and grow over time.

This is a part‑time, remote W2 position with a client roster of ~5–10 accounts and oversight of 2‑4 W2 bookkeepers.

Our Values

Freedom - We know our clients want the freedom to chase their dreams without the financial stress that tends to come with the gig. That’s why we keep their books organized, transparent, and efficient, giving them peace of mind to make bold, confident moves. We also create that same freedom for our team, fostering a flexible, inclusive workplace where careers and personal lives thrive. Because when finances are in check, everyone can grow, innovate, and succeed!

Balance - Running a business is fun... until it's not. Until you have a baby and need to step back, or you’re working nonstop but your profit margins don’t make sense, or you want to travel without cash flow stress. That’s where we shine! Your Numbers Gal helps entrepreneurs take control of their finances, so their business supports their life, rather than running it. And we practice what we preach, creating a flexible, balanced work environment for our team, because success should never come at the expense of well‑being.

Accountability - Accountability is at the core of what we do. We provide accurate, transparent financial records so our clients can make confident, informed decisions. At the same time, we empower our team to take ownership of their work and growth, offering opportunities to sharpen skills and advance their careers. Whether it’s managing finances or professional development, we believe in providing both our clients and team with the tools to take control of their future.

What You’ll Do

Own and manage the month‑end close calendar to ensure client reports are delivered on time.

Review and approve bookkeeper work for accuracy and completeness.

Troubleshoot complex accounting entries and support bookkeepers through unusual scenarios.

Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled and clean.

Ensure financial reporting packages are accurate and client‑ready.

Client Onboarding & Account Ownership

Facilitate new client onboardings, including intake, system setup coordination, and workflow expectations.

Maintain a small roster of clients (typically 5–10).

Lead client calls, answer questions via Slack or our client portal and provide timely follow‑up.

Compliance & Tax Operations

Register & manage clients’ state payroll tax accounts as needed.

Client Payroll setup in Gusto & Rippling.

Manage sales tax filings and workflows.

Facilitate annual 1099 filings for clients.

Collaborate with client CPAs on year‑end and ad‑hoc requests, including documentation and cleanup support.

Team Support & Internal Operations

Oversee day‑to‑day workflow for a team of 2–4 W2 bookkeepers.

Assign work, monitor deadlines, and provide support to keep deliverables on track.

Contribute to building and refining SOPs for client and internal processes.

Attend team and 1:1 meetings.

Maintain accurate task lists in ClickUp & Client Task Management System and track time as required.
