USA Clinics Group in Northbrook, IL is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the accounting team and oversee general accounting functions. Reporting to the CFO, you will manage accounts payable, ledger maintenance, taxes, and financial reporting.

You will guide annual audits, improve procedures, and develop staff through performance management and training. A Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance and 5+ years of experience, with CPA preferred, are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with supervisory exposure.
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• CPA preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage general accounting functions including accounts payable and general ledger.
• Support quarterly and year-end audit activities.
• Develop and improve accounting practices and procedures.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with external auditors for year-end closing.
• Lead and develop accounting staff through training and performance management.
• Handle taxes and disbursements and ensure timely reporting.

Position Summary

USA Clinics Group is seeking an Accounting Manager to join a growing team! Reporting directly to the CFO, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for the management, direction, and operation of a combination of general accounting activities including accounts payable, general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and related functions. Provides for the preparation of financial statements and reports in such areas as recording disbursements, expenses, and tax payments. Provides financial reports covering earnings, cash balances and other financial results. Plans and directs the development, implementation, operation and integrity of accounting systems and procedures.

Position Details

• Location: Northbrook, IL
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday on-site.
• Compensation: $120k-$135k per year.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, and taxes
• Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit
• Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
• Supervise and/or manage general ledger accounting functions
• Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
• Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end
• Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role, required
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all level of an organization
• Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
• Knowledge of employee relationship building and performance management techniques
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial systems.
