Job summary

CFS in the Greater Hartford area is seeking an Accounting Manager to own the close process, drive process improvements, and lead a fast-growing finance team in a high-growth, acquisition-focused environment.

You will build scalable accounting processes, ensure GAAP compliance, and support system integrations while partnering with senior leadership on strategic initiatives that accelerate growth and value creation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Prior leadership experience managing and mentoring an accounting team.
• Demonstrated success improving processes, creating efficiencies, and supporting system implementations or integrations.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
• CPA designation or CPA track preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities.
• Develop and implement new accounting processes, procedures, and efficiencies.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Analyze financial results, trends, and variances, providing actionable insights.
• Partner cross-functionally to resolve accounting issues and improve reporting accuracy.
• Support strategic initiatives, acquisitions, and other special projects as needed.
