Overview and Responsibilities

As an Accounting Manager, you will oversee and manage core accounting functions that support the financial health and operational success of our company. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate bookkeeping and account review processes while also managing payroll, forecasting inputs, expenses, budgeting and financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical accounting knowledge, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple financial workflows with accuracy and timeliness.

Key responsibilities:

Oversee accounting operations, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and reconciliation of accounts.

Coordinate month-end and year-end closing procedures, including reconciliations and financial statement preparation.

Calculate, file, and pay sales and use taxes, unemployment taxes, and payroll taxes on schedule.

Review, process, and manage company expenses, ensuring compliance with internal policies and accurate categorization.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and performance metrics.

Lead the budgeting process, working with management to establish forecasts and monitor actual vs. projected performance.

Conduct periodic account reviews and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Assist with financial forecasting and provide timely inputs for strategic planning decisions.

Collaborate with external accounting firm ensuring accurate documentation and compliance.

Manage the submission of payroll; working in conjunction with ADP.

Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial workflows, reporting, and internal controls.

Stay current with changes in tax laws, accounting standards, and best practices.

Required Skills

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks Online experience preferred).

Solid understanding of GAAP, tax compliance, and financial regulations.

Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with accuracy.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable collaborating cross-functionally and presenting financial data to non-financial audiences.

Ability to identify and solve problems independently while maintaining the highest level of integrity and confidentiality.

Familiarity and adherenceto laws and confidentiality guidelines

Excellent communication skills; demonstrated ability to be able to deliver messaging clearly as well as hear and act on feedback through active listening skills

Must reside in one of the following states: MD, PA, WV, CO, NY, WI, NJ, IA, GA, FL, OH, MN, WI

Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
