Job Summary

We are looking for a Accounting Manager to lead the assessment, documentation, and implementation of complex accounting policies and new standards. This role will act as a key subject matter expert in IFRS, and SOX compliance, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.

Job Description

Revenue Recognition (ASC 606 / IFRS 15):

Lead the evaluation of complex revenue arrangements, including PPAs, test energy sales, and milestone-based contracts.

Collaborate with FP&A and commercial teams to ensure accurate revenue forecasting and recognition.

Stay current with evolving accounting standards and update internal policies as needed.

Debt Recognition & Modification (IFRS 9):

Analyze and document accounting treatment for new and modified debt instruments.

Assess derecognition criteria and expected credit loss models.

Work closely with Treasury and Legal to support debt structuring and compliance.

Tax Equity Structures:

Provide technical accounting guidance for tax equity investments such as partnership flips, inverted leases, and sale-leasebacks.

Align book and tax treatments in coordination with Tax and Legal teams.

Support SOX controls and documentation for tax equity transactions.

Lease Accounting (ASC 842 / IFRS 16):

Manage lease classification and measurement for both lessee and lessor arrangements.

Ensure lease data accuracy and completeness within the lease accounting system.

Assist with quarterly financial disclosures and audit-related requests.

Capital Expenditures (Capex):

Define capitalization policies for development, construction, and major maintenance projects.

Review project expenditures for compliance with IFRS and internal guidelines.

Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting.

SOX Compliance:

Conduct regular SOX testing and ensure timely remediation of deficiencies. Oversee the annual review of capitalized costs and enhance evidence of review. Draft and maintain technical accounting memos to support audit and compliance requirements.
