Job description

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to support a growing organization with both its day to day accounting needs and broader process improvement initiatives. This is a hands on, Manager level role for someone who can quickly understand an existing accounting environment, take ownership of key processes, and identify opportunities to make the function faster, more accurate, and more scalable.

This person should bring a strong accounting foundation, hands on NetSuite experience, and a forward thinking approach to technology. This person should be comfortable leveraging AI, automation, and other emerging tools to eliminate manual work, improve workflows, and create more efficient accounting processes.

• Support and own key areas of the monthly, quarterly, and year end close process
• Review existing accounting processes and identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and highly manual workflows
• Develop and implement improvements across reconciliations, journal entries, close, reporting, and other accounting processes
• Utilize NetSuite to improve accounting workflows, reporting, controls, and overall efficiency
• Identify opportunities to better leverage existing NetSuite functionality and reduce processes being managed outside of the ERP
• Identify practical opportunities to leverage AI and automation within the accounting function
• Automate repetitive accounting activities and improve the accuracy and speed of financial information
• Build standardized processes, templates, controls, and documentation
• Improve the quality and timeliness of account reconciliations and financial reporting
• Partner with Finance, FP&A, Operations, and other teams to improve the flow of financial information
• Support technical accounting matters and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies
• Assist with audit requests and strengthen internal controls
• Analyze accounting data to identify issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement
• Establish scalable processes and best practices
• Balance hands on accounting responsibilities with broader process improvement and transformation initiatives

Accounting Manager Qualifications:

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with experience operating at the Accounting Manager or equivalent level
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, month end close, reconciliations, and accounting operations
• Hands on NetSuite experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to use and optimize NetSuite within an accounting environment
• Experience improving accounting processes and eliminating inefficient or highly manual workflows
• Strong understanding of AI, automation, and emerging technology and how these tools can practically improve accounting processes
• Experience implementing automation, workflow improvements, reporting enhancements, or other accounting transformation initiatives
• Advanced Excel skills and strong overall systems aptitude
• Experience within a high growth, evolving, or transformation focused environment is highly desirable
• Ability to operate independently, assess an accounting environment quickly, and turn observations into actionable improvements
• Hands on mentality with the ability to move between detailed accounting work and higher level process improvement initiatives
