Job summary

Opal Sands Resort in Clearwater Beach, Florida is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the accounting team, supervise night audit, and coordinate with the corporate office on general ledger reconciliation and financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will bring two or more years of hotel accounting experience, familiarity with Solomon Accounting Systems and Excel, and a proven ability to manage staff of three while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
• Experience with Solomon Accounting Systems and Excel.
• Hotel accounting experience with front and back office systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting functions and night audit; train staff.
• Coordinate with corporate on GL reconciliation and monthly/quarterly reporting.
• Manage an accounting staff of three and ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Support year-end closings and balance sheet analysis.

Opal Sands/Opal Sol two full service resorts in Clearwater Beach, Florida is in search of a highly motivated professional to join our team as an Accounting Manager. The resorts have 230 and 248 rooms and suites, currently 7 food and beverage outlets and each has a full service spa.

Pay Rate: $55,000 per year

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizationalskills,two plus years of hands-on experience in a hotelaccounting environment anda strong background in computerized hotel systems, to includefront of the house in addition to back office systems.

This position oversees and trainsthe accounting, and night audit positions.The Accounting Manager works in coordination with the corporate officeon all aspects of hotelaccounting, to include general ledger reconciliation, monthlyand quarterlysales tax filing, monthly financials, balance sheet analysis and year-end closings.

A successful candidate will have experience with:

• Accounts Payable
• Accounts Receivable
• Income Audit
• General Ledger Account Reconciliation
• Tracking and Reconciling Capital Expenditures
• Managing an Accounting staff of three as well as Night Auditors
