Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience including leadership responsibilities.
• Construction industry experience required.
• Strong understanding of job costing, percentage-of-completion accounting, and WIP schedules.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations including general ledger, AP, AR, payroll support, and job costing.
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Monitor project accounting activities, job costing, and WIP reporting.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and company accounting policies.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and oversee cash management activities.
• Partner with operations and project managers to analyze project profitability and costs.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts.
• Coordinate annual audits and support tax preparation activities.
• Develop, mentor, and manage accounting staff.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.

About the Opportunity

LHH is partnering with a growing construction company in Cedar Park to identify an experienced Accounting Manager. This position will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, manage month-end close activities, support financial reporting, and lead a small accounting team. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting leadership experience, a process-improvement mindset, and prior experience within the construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and job cost accounting
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules
• Monitor project accounting activities, job costing, and WIP reporting
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and oversee cash management activities
• Partner with operations and project managers to analyze project profitability and costs
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts
• Coordinate annual audits and support tax preparation activities
