The general pay scale for this position at MOH is $89,470.81 - $137,647.40 per year. The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, etc.

SCOPE:

Directs the daily activities of accounting functions at the corporate office. Maintains responsibility for the preparation of monthly financial statements, maintenance of the corporate general ledger, accounts payable, payroll and employment taxes, and related accounting functions. Assists with financial analysis, budget preparation, and related financial duties as requested. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and reviews the monthly close of accounting books for all assigned practice areas, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP financial standards.
  • Collaborate with Practice Controller, accounting team and Corporate Accountants to perform detailed financial analysis of revenue, expenses, productivity metrics, and operational trends across healthcare service lines.
  • Prepares variance analysis for Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and detailed Cost Center P&L's, with attention to business KPIs.
  • Analyze large volumes of financial, billing, and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Reviews internal and external accounting management reports for accuracy, relevance, and alignment with practice performance indicators.
  • Manages detailed research of GAAP issues as needed.
  • Ensures accuracy of A/P invoice coding
  • Reviews all disbursements for appropriateness
  • Reviews amortization schedules on new debt
  • Provide the coding of the payment of monthly debt service
  • Serves as liaison with practice CPA's representing the practice's financial operations.
  • Directs preparation of detailed analysis of accounts receivable.
  • Leads and manages accounting department staff, fostering expertise in healthcare and financial operations.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of healthcare regulations and financial compliance standards (e.g., CMS, HIPAA, OIG).
  • Partner with operational leaders to assist and develop budgets, forecasts, and strategic financial plans.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum five years of accounting and financial reporting experience, with at least two years in a management role.
  • Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred, including physician practices, hospitals, oncology, ambulatory care, or multi-site healthcare organizations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including Pivot Tables and large-data analysis.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, healthcare and fiscal management.
  • Proven ability to manage complex financial operations and lead accounting teams in a clinical environment.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment while managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
