Job summary

GHJ's client, a growing personal care products company in California, seeks an experienced Accounting Manager to own the accounting operations and financial reporting. The role blends hands-on day-to-day duties with strategic oversight and partnership with leadership to drive growth.

You will oversee full-cycle accounting, manufacturing and inventory accounting, monthly close, cash flow forecasting, and analysis, with supervision of two direct reports and coordination with offshore resources.

Qualifications

• Full-cycle accounting experience, including financial reporting and month-end close.
• Manufacturing accounting experience required.
• Strong knowledge of inventory and WIP accounting.
• NetSuite experience required.
• Advanced Excel skills and financial analysis ability.
• Budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management experience.
• Prior supervision of accounting staff or offshore teams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting, including AP, AR, invoicing, collections, and GL.
• Lead month-end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage manufacturing accounting, inventory, and WIP reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and KPI dashboards.
• Develop a 13-week cash flow forecast and support budgeting/variance analysis.
• Utilize NetSuite for accounting operations and reporting.
• Strengthen internal controls and coordinate with leadership on financial matters.
• Supervise two direct reports and coordinate with offshore resources.

A growing company in the personal care products industry is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to take ownership of its accounting operations and financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys working in a smaller-company environment, improving processes, and partnering closely with leadership to support business growth.

The Accounting Manager will oversee full-cycle accounting, manufacturing and inventory accounting, financial reporting, cash flow management, and forecasting. This role combines day-to-day accounting responsibilities with higher-level financial analysis and Controller-level oversight, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting, including AP, AR, invoicing, collections, and general ledger activities.
• Lead month-end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage manufacturing accounting, including inventory, work-in-process (WIP), and related reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and KPI dashboards.
• Develop and maintain a 13-week cash flow forecast to support financial planning.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Utilize NetSuite for accounting operations, financial reporting, and analysis.
• Strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures, and operational efficiencies.
• Supervise two direct reports and coordinate with offshore accounting resources.
• Partner with leadership and external accounting professionals on financial matters and special projects.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on, full-cycle accounting experience, including financial reporting and month-end close.
• Manufacturing accounting experience required.
• Strong knowledge of inventory and WIP accounting.
• NetSuite experience required.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial analysis and reconciliations.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Previous experience supervising accounting staff or coordinating offshore accounting teams preferred.
• Ability to manage both transactional accounting and higher-level financial reporting responsibilities.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working in a smaller-company environment.
