Synergy Search is seeking an Accounting Manager to join a growing healthcare organization operating a multi-site outpatient clinic network in Brentwood, TN. You will lead month-end close, budgeting, and oversee the revenue cycle, AR, and audits, with autonomy in a fast-paced environment. Onsite in Brentwood, TN with potential for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare accounting.
• Minimum 3 years in a multi-site healthcare organization.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP in a healthcare setting.
• Experience with EMR systems and billing/AR workflows.
• Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for leadership.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, compile, and analyze financial statements and reporting across all clinic locations.
• Own month-end close responsibilities and support annual budgeting process.
• Oversee revenue billing processes and the full revenue cycle from patient encounter through payment.
• Manage accounts receivable with regular reviews with clinic managers.
• Ensure proper recording and control of patient payments and insurance claim data.
• Track and manage capital expenditure (CAPEX) spending.
• Support internal and external audits with schedules and documentation.
• Support due diligence and integration for clinic acquisitions.
• Develop and implement healthcare accounting best practices and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee revenue billing processes and the full revenue cycle, from patient encounter through payment
• Manage the accounts receivable process, including regular reviews with clinic-level managers
• Ensure proper recording and control of patient payments and insurance claim data
• Track and manage capital expenditure (CAPEX) spending
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation
• Support financial and accounting due diligence and integration for clinic acquisitions
• Develop and implement healthcare accounting best practices and internal controls

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or closely related field) from a four-year college or university
• Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare accounting
• Minimum 3 years of experience within a multi-site healthcare organization
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP in a healthcare setting
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and related billing/AR workflows
• Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for leadership
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with sound judgment and independent decision-making ability
• Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Must be able to work onsite in Brentwood, TN (some flexibility possible after initial onboarding period)
