Culture Pop Soda is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee daily operations, month-end close, and financial reporting in a fast-growing CPG environment. The role includes inventory costing, third-party manufacturing, and trade spend, with a hands-on leadership style.

You will supervise an Accounting Associate and collaborate across Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Operations to provide actionable insights and drive growth. Hybrid in Watertown, MA, full-time exempt.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field is required.
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience with cost and inventory focus.
• CPA/CGMA not required but a plus; CPG/food/beverage sector preferred.
• Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge including ASC 606 and inventory valuation.

Responsabilités

• Lead monthly close, GL, reconciliations, and financial statement prep.
• Oversee inventory costing, COGS, BOMs, and reconciliations with Ops.
• Manage trade spend accruals, settlements, deductions, and revenue recognition.
• Oversee accounts payable, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.

Position Summary

Culture Pop Soda is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee daily operations, month-end close, and financial reporting within the complex CPG landscape. Reporting to the VP of Accounting and Finance, this hands-on leader will manage inventory costing, third-party manufacturing, and trade spend. In this role, you will supervise an Accounting Associate while leveraging our strong existing accounting systems and automated processes. This opportunity is ideal for a collaborative, strategic problem-solver who thrives in a high-growth environment and seamlessly bridges big-picture strategy with day-to-day execution.

• Location: Hybrid, Watertown, MA (in office Monday through Wednesday)
• Type: Full-time, exempt

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Month-End Close: Lead the monthly close process, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Analyze financial results, budget variances, and KPIs to support business decisions.
• Inventory & Cost Accounting: Oversee inventory valuation, COGS, product costing, bills of materials, and inventory reconciliations. Partner with Operations to investigate variances and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Trade Spend & Revenue: Manage trade promotion accruals, settlements, deductions, and reconciliations. Ensure accurate revenue recognition, oversee accounts receivable, and reconcile e-commerce sales through platforms such as Shopify and Amazon.
• Accounts Payable & Compliance: Oversee vendor payments, expense reviews, tax filings, and regulatory reporting while maintaining accurate, audit ready financial records.
• Team Leadership & Process Improvement: Mentor and develop the Accounting Associate while maintaining strong internal controls and standard operating procedures. Build on the Company’s existing systems and automations to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and support continued growth.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to provide actionable financial insights, support forecasting, and inform strategic business decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting, with a strong background in cost accounting and inventory management
• Accounting experience in a CPG, food, or beverage company preferred
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and inventory valuation and cost accounting
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems; NetSuite or similar system
• Experience with e-commerce, spend management, trade promotion, and sales tax platforms, including Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, Ramp, Confido, and Zamp, preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups, and data analysis
• Experience supervising, mentoring, or developing accounting staff
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 plus annual bonus
