Job summary

SHAPE Technologies, a global manufacturing organization, is seeking an Accounting Manager for the Baxter Springs, Kansas facility. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance; supervisory experience required.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience with a background in public accounting; 5-7 years in industry.
• Accounting experience in manufacturing preferred; CPA designation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and close processes.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage month-end and year-end close cycles and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Coordinate audits with internal and external auditors.
• Mentor and develop the accounting team and foster professional growth.
• Ensure compliance with reporting requirements and regulations; drive process improvements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accounting Manager is a key member of the accounting team supporting SHAPE's Baxter Springs, Kansas facility, the largest manufacturing operation within the SHAPE Technologies Group and home to the production of industry-leading ultrahigh-pressure pumps and spare parts for our waterjet cutting systems.

The Accounting Manager leads day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial close processes, while helping ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls. Partnering closely with operations and finance leadership, this role offers the opportunity to develop a talented team, improve processes, leverage technology, and contribute to the continued growth and success of SHAPE's flagship manufacturing facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the accounting function for KMT Waterjet Systems, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information.
• Oversee all general accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and general ledger management.
• Review and approve complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and accounting analyses while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and corporate accounting policies.
• Drive the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting, adherence to deadlines, and continuous improvement in close-cycle efficiency.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls that strengthen financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and compliance.
• Lead audit activities, including coordination with internal and external auditors, preparation of supporting schedules, and successful resolution of audit findings.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Controller to develop, mentor, and inspire a high-performing accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and corporate reporting requirements, policies, and regulations.
• Champion process improvement and automation initiatives by leveraging technology and best practices to increase efficiency, scalability, and data integrity across the finance function.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities by providing accurate financial data and business insights.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of a world-class finance organization that supports the company's continued expansion in a global manufacturing environment.

Education/Experience And/or Training

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance; supervisory experience required.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience with a background in public accounting; 5-7 years of experience in industry with no public accounting experience
• Accounting experience in a manufacturing company is preferred.
• CPA designation preferred.
