Job summary

Lakefront Anchorage is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team in Anchorage. This role supports day-to-day operations, ensures accurate financial reporting, and collaborates with leadership to drive accountability and operational excellence.

The position requires hospitality finance experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including evenings and holidays. Competitive benefits are provided by the Lakefront Anchorage team.

Qualifications

• A.S or B.S degree in Accounting / Finance preferred; or minimum 2-year accounting experience.
• Experience with hotel systems (Micros, Opera) preferred.
• Proficient in Excel and able to maintain accuracy in reports and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely weekly / monthly / quarterly / annual financial reports and plans for the property.
• Prepare and ensure accuracy of daily hotel revenues via income journal.
• Reconcile daily front desk interface postings and all restaurant/bar charges.
• Maintain controls: credit management, journal entries, month-end close.

About the Role: Accounting Manager

As our Accounting Manager, you will play an integral role in delivering an exceptional guest experience while contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Your Impact

• Prepare timely weekly / monthly / quarterly / annual financial reports and plans for the properties.
• Preparation and ensure accuracy of daily hotel revenues via income journal.
• Monitor and control of hotel operations, and operating forecasts for the property.
• Reconcile daily front desk interface posting to include guestrooms and all restaurant/bar, all credit card charges.
• Prepare refunds and rebate adjustments; Prepare journal entries for adjustments; Prepare special billings; Prepare and process month end journal entries and reports as requested by Director of Finance.
• Completes daily income audit and journals; reviews own work and ensures their accuracy prior to submitting for review.
• Responsible for recording and reviewing credit card and batch processes, collections and daily cash and credit card reconciliations.
• Credit management of current and new applicants; weekly reporting, collections, and bad debt; Review and research credit balances.

Technical / Role-Specific Requirements (Customize Per Role)

Ability to deal effectively with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Prior experience in one or more of the following financial accounting systems preferred D365, Profit Sword, SAGE, SAP, etc.

Prior experience in hotel systems preferred (i.e. Micros, Opera, etc.).

Education (Optional / Adjustable)

• A.S or B.S degree in Accounting / Finance preferred; or Minimum 2-year accounting experience, hotel experience preferred.
