Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is hiring an Accounting Lead for the Texas Institute for Electronics in Austin, TX. This role partners with engineering, research, and administrative leaders to drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial stewardship in a fast-paced semiconductor research environment.

Responsibilities include planning, variance analysis, and reporting, with emphasis on internal controls, capital investment evaluation, and collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in financial analysis, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, or related finance function.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience supporting month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, variance analysis, and reporting.
• Experience utilizing ERP systems and financial management software.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, advanced formulas, data analysis, and financial modeling.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a dynamic environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Develop budgets, forecasts, and annual operating and capital budgets for assigned departments.
• Analyze monthly financial results and prepare variance analyses and reporting.
• Oversee accounts receivable, revenue management, and cash flow insights.
• Monitor compliance with UT policies, sponsor requirements, and regulations; assist with audits.
• Support process improvements, automation, and financial systems projects.
