Job summary

Texas Institute for Electronics (TIE) is seeking an Accounting Lead in Austin to partner with operational, engineering, research, and administrative leaders. You will provide financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and decision-support to enable strategic resource allocation in a fast-paced semiconductor research environment.

You will translate financial data into actionable insights, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with institutional and sponsor requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Three (3) or more years of professional experience in financial analysis, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, or a related finance function.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Experience supporting month-end and year-end financial processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, variance analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems and financial management software.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, advanced formulas, data analysis, and financial modeling.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Financial Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting for assigned departments, consolidating annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Develop monthly financial reporting, variance analyses, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Monitor spending, ensure budget alignment, and advise on risks and governance processes.
  • Support Accounts Receivable activities, invoicing, cash application, and aging reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with UT policies, sponsor requirements, and regulations; support audits.
  • Participate in process improvements, reporting automation, and analytics projects.
